Room Tour

Come take a peak around.

This is where our day begins- morning message, calendar, and balloon pop!  This is also where the kids check in for their center exploration.  They have to let me know where they are beginning their adventure, and then are free to change as long as center rules are followed.

Here is our helper chart as well as our "Question of the Day" graph.
They love the responsibilty of the jobs, and know they are as easily "fired" as they are "hired".  The question of the day gives them a chance to decide how they feel about different things and then graph their answers.

Puzzles and Manipulatives

Like all the other areas, the choices change out as our skills change.  This area contains puzzles, fine motor activites such as lacing and stringing beads, and even things like gears and car building kits.

Blocks
Everyone loves blocks!  We have many different things to work on in here.  We have the traditional blocks, big blocks made out of juice box contaners, wipe off board for design drafting, cars, people and even tools.  Lots of learning adventures start here.

Math-
One of the biggest hits in here is the light table.  They can use it as a tracing table, building or even a sorting table.  There are also things like math puzzles, sorters and counters, and the large peg board.

Reading-
Here we have many things that includes puppets and flannel boards, as well as all types of books.

My small group table area as well as the art table.  The listening center is off to the left.

Word Work on the left.  Here the children have many opportunities to work on pre-reading and writing skills.  They can manipulate and work with letters, words and objects.

Writing table supplies are just to the right of the dinosaur fabric.  This includes playdough, stampers, wipe-off boards and other unit specific materials.

Writing Table
Here is where authors are born!  They love this area.  We keep it stocked up with all types of writing supplies as well as blank books.

Behind the writing table is the magnetic board center.  This is a fun center with many different magnetic supplies.  There is even a floor puzzle we have added magnetic tape to.  They can use wipe-off markers if they want to write, gears and manipulatives that will "stick" as they say, and even just plain magnets that are fun to manipulate.

Science is loaded with all different types of learning.  Bugs, magnifing glasses, color tubes, you can find it all in here!

Just to the right is the exploration tray.  It changes from sand to water to what ever else we can imagine to explore!

Computer station.

Everyones favorite...Homeliving.

You can't get the whole effect, but check out our new light covers!  The kids love them, and it gives such a nice soft glow and atmosphere to our room.
